MUSICAL MERRY-GO-ROUND: Fremont Abbey Arts Center has been doing this little thing called The Round for sometime now. They are hugely popular and it's spreading. There are versions of the round in a handful of other cities, including Tacoma; Austin, TX; and Lebanon, PA. Here's how it goes - a few musicians share the stage with poets and painters and they all take turns playing songs and reading poems and painting stuff. Sometimes the artists even collaborate right there on the spot - creating something entirely new and original for the special audience that just happens to be there. So, not your average concert. Tonight's Round will have musicians Aaron Sprinkle and Annie Bethancourt sharing the stage with poet Robert Ascalon and painters Craig Van Den Bosh and Karina Sprinkle. Check out what Morgen had to say about The Round here.

ALASKA, OIL, POLITICS: In Alaska, the line between politics and oil is very blurred. As oil companies and the federal government kept the state living high and wild, a handful of players ran the show, including the late Sen. Ted Stevens and oilman Bill Allen (the "Tony Soprano of Alaska"). These characters and events paved the way for Sarah Palin's rise to fame and fall from glory in Alaska. Amanda Coyne, co-founder of AlaskaDispatch.com, charts the epic tale of these characters in her new book Crude Awakening.

QUIZ ME, QUIZMASTER: If you have an iPhone or iPad you may already be familiar with MovieCat Trivia. However, if you are unfamiliar with this app then you should know that MovieCat is a film trivia game that combines questions with visual puzzles. Central Cinema brings this game to life on the fourth Tuesday of every month. And this ain't your average trivia night. First, the quizmasters are dressed up in cat costumes. Second, these quizmasters don't just read a list of questions. This game uses the full capability of the theater - pictures are displayed, audio clips are played, and video clips are shown. It's like a real game show.
