Pro Football: The Seahawks' last ditch effort to make the playoffs came up short on Saturday when they fell to the San Francisco 49ers, 19-17. In spite of the loss, there were several positives for Seattle: Marshawn Lynch added another 100-yard-plus performance to his season; the Seahawks defense held Frank Gore to just 83 yards and limited the 49ers two major passing threats to a combined 139 yards; and San Francisco was forced to rely on the foot of David Akers to win the game. But, positives or no, Saturday's loss was the end of the Seahawks season. Next week's matchup with the Cardinals will be an opportunity to at least finish 2011 with a .500 record.

College Football: The Alamo Bowl is still a few days off, but gamblers, both degenerate and otherwise, are already pretty confident who the winner will be. The UW Huskies had a decent season offensively and clinched bowl eligibility early on, but defense was not one of their strong suits. That does not bode well for their December 29 showdown with the Baylor Bears at the Alamo Bowl. The Bears, led by Heisman winner Robert Griffin III, are perfectly capable of blowing the Huskies' defense out of the water. Husky fans...would you bet on UW to win Thursday?
