Countdown in Photos #29: Campfire OK
Over the month of December I am planning to delight you with tales of my adventures as a concert photographer in 2011. They may be the best shots I took, or the best moments I experienced. Either way, it would be a shame for those to fall by the wayside and be left sitting dormant in my feeble mind. Keep coming back, there'll be a new one each day.
Check out yesterday's post with Noah Gundersen.

Campfire OK is another group of musicians that have found more than a moderate amount of success in Seattle (and beyond). They've been a personal favorite of mine since I saw them play the Crocodile in the summer of 2010. They hadn't quite found their niche yet, but absolutely on their way.
Not only am I excited for their success but the direction their music seems to be going. The one thing I hate to see most from a band I enjoy is the same tired old thing album after album. They lose their audience because they're playing it safe. It's hard to walk the line between being true to their fans and true to their music.
Luckily, as far as I can tell, many of my Seattle favorites including Campfire have discovered how to keep it fresh without alienating existing fans. What I am most interested in hearing from this group is Melodie Knight's beautiful voice more often. From the few new songs they've performed off their upcoming album, it looks like she'll get her chance to shine.
