Following up on yesterday's item, police have arrested and charged the boyfriend of the slain Woodinville high school teacher with murder. The man, a bodybuilder described as "very controlling", was in direct violation of his parole in the state of Georgia. [Publicola, KOMO, Seattle PI]

In "People Who Insist On The Two-Steps-Forward-One-Step-Back-Approach-To-Governing" news, a West Seattle man has started a petition in order to put the Seattle City Council's recent decision to ban plastic bags to a vote. We quote: "It's misinformation that these are single-use bags. I use them to line wastebaskets. Other people use them for dog waste. None of them go wasted." Perhaps he needs to learn about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch -- twice the size of Texas, you know. [Seattle TImes]

In the midst of all of this, KIRO brings us the all important news regarding the barbecue grill that was blown off of a balcony and plunged 19 stories to its untimely demise. Last Sunday. No one was hurt. We're sure somebody will find this informative. [KIRO]
